Hit Frequency - The expected frequency of winning payouts that a slot machine will produce. For example, if a winning combination will hit, on average, one time in six, the hit frequency will be 16.67%.
Hold - The percentage or actual dollar amounts a casino wins from its players. Also known as Hold Percentage.
Hot - A machine that is paying out better than expected, or a player on a winning streak.
Jackpot - The big win on any machine - the jackpot!
Lemon - A symbol found on slot machines.
Liberty Bell - The original slots machine invented by Mil Charles Fey. Also, the symbol on the reels of many slot machines.
Long Run - The concept of what certain results are expected to be when occurring over many trials, thus, in the long run.
Loose, Loose Machine - A slot machine marked by frequent winners, with a high percentage payback to the players. This is opposed to a tight machine which has a low percentage payback.

Big Coin Machine - A slot machine requiring $5, $25, or larger coin to play.
Big Coin Player - A slots player who plays $5, $25, or larger coins.
Blanks - The stops on a reel which contain no symbols, thus, blank stops, or blanks.
Buy- Your-Pay - A machine with a single payout line that will only pay on certain symbols if enough coins are played.
Cage - The cashier's cage, where players can exchange chips for cash, or change traveler's checks. The cage usually won't accept large numbers of coins. That must be done at a change booth.
Change Booth -A booth set up for the specific purpose of changing players’ bills into coins, or their coins into bills.
Change-person - The casino employee who services the machines area for the purpose of changing bills into coins.
Carousels - An oval or round-shaped area containing a bank of machines at whose center, enclosed in the space, often sits a change girl.
Cashout Button - This button, when pressed, releases all the coins that were won, or at least held by the machine.
